Artist Statement:
More than a mere paper object, this artist book is a sculpture that unfolds in the viewer’s hands. Through collage and assemblage upon layered cardboard, it possesses a porous, organic surface that evokes a profound sense of antiquity, erosion, and the passage of time.
In this work, the hinged panels and intricate networks of thread act as an architectural body, challenging the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces—the intersection of delicate filaments with the hard, layered texture of the cardboard. This piece is an exploration of suspension, the connection between the visible and the tactile, and the spatial continuity between the stillness of matter and the dynamism of lines.
