Artist Statement:
This work is a book born of fabric and hand stitching, not paper. Hand-sewn pages with weathered edges evoke the visceral qualities of skin and body—as though this book has lived upon a physical form, bearing its marks over time. Red stains emerging from deep within the pale cloth, like an open wound or an internal vessel, serve as vital traces of life within a silent structure.
With every page turned and opened, the book reveals a continuous encounter with layers: a surface wounded, a section mended and stitched, and openings in the weave that lead inward. Created not merely to be read, but to be touched and experienced, this work reflects on vulnerability, endurance, and the material trace of time inscribed upon skin—a narrative of weaving, wearing away, and enduring.
