This relief structure is built upon a dense network of linear elements, dark planes, compartments, and multi-layered cuts. The stark contrast between charcoal darks and specular reflections on polished metal surfaces evokes a burnt urban fabric, desolate cells, and living spaces reduced to a micro scale. The juxtaposition of sharp iron edges with weathered, porous wood casts deep, dynamic chiaroscuro effects across the wall surface, continually shifting and reforming with the changing angle of ambient light.
